I am very sad to hear of Mary's passing at such a young and vibrant age. Hanna, her daughter, described her mom as I do remember her. Fun loving, always with a smile and laugh, friends to all and a pleasure to be with. My condolences to her dear friend Marty and her entire family. She will always have a special place in the hearts of the FNHS alum who had the great fortune to know her and be her classmate. God rest your soul Mary.. Heaven is in store for a real joy.
Mary’s passing leaves a space that can’t be filled, because she was truly one of a kind — vivacious, beautiful in spirit, and endlessly generous with her warmth. Alzheimer’s may have taken pieces of her memory, but it never dimmed the love she gave, the joy she sparked, or the way she lifted the people around her.
We will keep living in this world without her the only way we can: by remembering her stories, honoring her kindness, and letting the best parts of her live on in us. Her light didn’t disappear — it simply changed form, becoming something we now carry forward.
May her memory be a blessing, and may we find comfort in knowing that the essence of who she was remains untouched, held safely in the hearts of everyone who loved her.
A girl from the Oaks -- what a gang we had growing up with the freedom of wandering, exploring, growing. Mary was always a firecracker. Lively, cheerful, loving life. So many memories: The Cove, rope swing, dam, railroad tracks, and a few adult controlled activities such as Brownies & CCD. We all scatter as we enter different phases of our lives and I love to read that Anne remained close to Mary. They were so connected in high school. I don't know the date of this picture. My sister, Terry, sent it to me when I shared the news of Mary's passing. The happiness on her face is what will always be my memory. Anne, I am so sorry for the loss of your wonderful friend. Please know I am thinking of you.
I am deeply shocked and saddened at Mary's passing. She was such a bright light, full of fun and life. We had so many laughs and good times growing up together. Rest in peace, Mary and God bless you.
It is so difficult to wrap my head around one of the Oaks gals passing. Pat, you are so right - what a time we all had and how fortunate we were to live in the neighborhood that had so many nearly same aged girls and even guys. Mary was an eternal Peter Pan and so adorabe. Her obituary was magnificent and learning she continued with her wit and charm and joy all throughout her life, is comforting in a way.
