Is it our age or?
Posted Thursday, January 5, 2023 03:00 PM

am I just noticing so many people have died or have horrible diseases because I just turned 71, which seems impossible. I am surrounded by cancer diagnoses (including me but I'm fine) for the most part, but it is just awful to lose people whom we think of as young!

Hi JoAnne, You are right about us in our 70's wading into health issues!! Since turning 73 this summer, it's as if a timing switch flipped on, and I now have 4 'ologists' added to a pcp, and am managing it all well, but boy, no warning, just thrust into an entirely new phase of being!!

So Thanks for bringing this up! I am a fellow-passanger, and appreciate your taking note so we're all able to comment and share these new challenges! (just need to add that at least for now, no cancers anywhere thankfully. It is in my family; my Dad lost a battle with Lymphoma in 1956. And currently, news reports tell us younger people are getting cancer diagnoses.)

Pretty sure most of us are feelng younger than our calendar age, at least on the inside!
