I was so sorry to hear about Richard's far-too-early passing. His obit was truly fascinating to read. What a Renaissance man he was to become! A life lived to its fullest. (Thanks for letting us know, Bill.)
Rick and I (and brother David) spent a ton of time together through most of high school, much of it in their basement listening to music.. Hendrix in the West!... or roaming the neighborhood, playing ball down next to the A&P.
His friendship back in high school days meant a lot to me in my development into a real human being, expanding horizons, pushing the envelopes of my narrow existence. I always respected his intelligence and perspective and integrity.
Later I'd visit in Vermont from time to time. I helped build the teepee. Teal the toddler owned those woods. Attached is a photo of Rick and Cheryl and Teal at my wedding with Abby. Cheryl attended the birth of our oldest, Ben, now 37.
We kept in touch for a lot of years but lost touch about 20 years ago. I sure wish we hadn't.
